Zionism - The Real Enemy of the Jews

About the books

Almost everything you've been conditioned to believe about the making and sustaining of conflict in and over Palestine that became Israel is not true.

It's not true that all the Palestinians who became refugees in 1948 left their homeland voluntarily. Most were driven out by Zionist terrorism and ethnic cleansing.

It's not true that Israel has lived in constant danger of annihilation, the "driving into the sea" of its Jews. Israel's existence has never, ever, been in danger.

And it's not true that Israel never had Arab partners for peace. It's Zionism that has never been interested in peace on terms the vast majority of Palestinians and most other Arabs and Muslims everywhere could accept.

Zionism: The Real Enemy of the Jews is a journey through the propaganda lies and truth of history.

When the citizens of nations know the difference between Zionism's propaganda lies and the documented facts and truth of history, they will be empowered, if they care, to demand that their governments act to end Israel's oppression of the Palestinians. And that's why Alan Hart devoted more than five years of his life to researching and writing this book - to empower citizens to play their necessary part in stopping the countdown to catastrophe for all.

Zionism: The Real Enemy of the Jews is a complete re-writing of the history of the making and sustaining of the conflict, replacing Zionist mythology with events as they actually happened. The events are given global context to enable all readers to see how all the pieces of the most complex and complicated jig-saw puzzle fit together.

The insight Alan brings to the pages of this book is assisted by revelations from private conversations he had over the years with leaders on both sides of the conflict, including the two greatest opposites in all of human history - Golda Meir, Mother Israel, and Yasser Arafat, Father Palestine.

Written in his down-to-earth, television reporting and conversational style, the book reads more like a novel than a conventional history. It will keep you turning the pages wanting to know more.

It has two central themes.

One is why Western support of Israel right-or-wrong has made the whole Arab and wider Muslim world an explosion of anger and humiliation waiting for its time to happen.

The other is how Israel, the child of Zionism, became its own worst enemy and a threat not only to the peace of the region and the world, but also to the best interests of Jews everywhere and the moral integrity of Judaism itself.

The key to understanding, the author writes, is knowledge of the difference between Judaism and Zionism. He explains: "Judaism is the religion of Jews, not 'the' Jews because not all Jews are religious. Like Christianity and Islam, Judaism has at its core a set of moral values and ethical principles. Zionism is Jewish nationalism in the form of a sectarian, colonial enterprise which, in the process of creating and then expanding in the Arab heartland a state for some Jews, made a mockery of Judaism's moral values and ethical principles and demonstrated contempt for international law and the human and political rights of the Palestinians. That's why, for example, Nazi holocaust survivor Dr. Hajo Meyer titled his latest book An Ethical Tradition Betrayed, The End of Judaism."

The author adds: "Supporters of Israel right or wrong conflate Judaism and Zionism because the assertion that they are one and the same enables them to claim that criticism of the Zionist state of Israel is a manifestation of anti-Semitism. Often, almost always these days, the accusation that criticism of Israel is anti-Semitism is false. And this false charge is the blackmail card played to silence criticism of, and suppress informed and honest debate about, the Zionist state and its policies. The reality is that Judaism and political Zionism are total opposites, and knowledge of the difference is the key to understanding two things. One is why it is perfectly possible to be passionately anti-Zionist - opposed to Zionism's colonial enterprise - without being in any way, shape or form anti-Semitic (anti-Jew). The other is why it is wrong to blame all Jews everywhere for the crimes of the hard core Zionist few in Palestine that became Israel."

Author's Appeal...

"The Zionist lobby in all of its manifestations is putting shocking and awesome effort into limiting distribution of this book and suppressing the informed and honest debate it was written to promote. The less this attempt to keep the truth of history hidden is successful, the more likely it will be that peace can have a last chance."

Consider not only buying this book for yourself but as a gift for others, to assist the mobilisation of people power (democracy in action) for justice and peace.

The Author

Alan Hart (www.alanhart.net) has been engaged with events in the Middle East and their global consequences and terrifying implications - the possibility of a Clash of Civilisations, Judeo-Christian v Islamic, and, along the way, another great turning against the Jews - for nearly 40 years...

  • As a correspondent for ITN's News At Ten and the BBC's Panorama programme (covering wars and conflicts wherever they were taking place in the world).
  • As a researcher and author.
  • As a participant at leadership level, working to a Security Council background briefing, in the covert diplomacy of the search for peace.

He's been to war with the Israelis and the Arabs, but the learning experience he values most, and which he believes gave him rare insight, came from his one-to-one private conversations over the years with many leaders on both sides of the conflict. With, for example, Golda Meir, Mother Israel, and Yasser Arafat, Father Palestine. The significance of these private conversations was that they enabled him to be aware of the truth of what leaders really believed and feared as opposed to what they said in public for propaganda and myth-sustaining purposes.

It was because of his special relationships with leaders on both sides that, in 1980, he found himself sucked into the covert diplomacy of conflict resolution...

President Carter had been prevented by Prime Minister Begin from involving the PLO in the peace process, an opening made possible because Arafat had signalled, secretly and seriously, that he was ready to make peace with an Israel inside more or less its pre-1967 borders. Carter was in despair and said, in private, that events had once again proved that it was impossible to advance the peace process by institutional diplomacy (because of the pork-barrel nature of American politics and the Zionist lobby's awesome influence). It was then suggested to Alan that he should undertake an unofficial, covert diplomatic mission to get an exploratory dialogue going between Arafat and Peres, with himself initially the linkman. The assumption at the time was that Peres would win Israel's next election and deny Begin a second term. The initiative was funded by a small number of wealthy British Jews led by Marcus Sieff (the Chairman of Marks and Spencer) with the approval of Lord Victor Rothschild.... It happened and enough progress was made to get Peres and Arafat into public dialogue in the event of Peres winning the 1981 election. Unfortunately, and against all expectations, he did not.

In the course of this mission, Alan learned two things. The first was the truth about the miracle of Arafat's leadership - his success in persuading his side (most of it) to be ready for unthinkable compromise with Israel for peace. (Which was why Alan wrote his first book Arafat: Terrorist or Peacemaker). The second was why it is difficult to impossible for any Israeli prime minister, even a rational, well-motivated one, to make peace on any terms the Palestinians can accept.

A decade later, this initiative became the Oslo process, which might have delivered peace if Prime Minister Rabin had not been assassinated by a gut-Zionist.

Alan has long believed that what peacemaking needs above all else is some TRUTH-TELLING, about many things but, especially, the difference between Zionist mythology and real history, and, the difference between Jews and Judaism on the one hand and Zionists and Zionism on the other. (The Zionism of the title and substance of Alan's latest book is, of course, political Zionism or Jewish nationalism as the creating and sustaining force of the Zionist state, not what could be called the spiritual Zionism of Judaism).

Alan is also credited with having played a leading role in getting the 'North-South' issue onto the agenda for political and public debate throughout the Western world and beyond. In 1973, frustrated by the mainstream media's refusal to come to grips with issues that really matter, he set up his own independent production company (World Focus) to research, film, edit and promote the first ever documentary on the full and true dimensions of global poverty and its implications for all.

The end product, a two-hour film titled FIVE MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT, had its world premiere, hosted by Secretary General Kurt Waldheim, at the formal opening of the 7th Special session of the UN General Assembly, (called to discuss the need for a New World Economic Order); was screened on television in most countries of the North; was versioned for schools in many countries; and became something of a standard work of reference. (The visual impact of the production was supplemented by statistics then new to the world including, for example, the estimate that, in the South, 15 million children under five were dying each year from a combination of malnutrition and easily preventable diseases - in a word, poverty).

To make the project work, Alan, on the strength of his international reputation, raised £1 million in grants from international development institutions and governments and put together a think-tank of world leaders to advise him.

Alan is a fiercely independent thinker. He hates all labels and isms and has never been a member of any political party or group. He prefers to judge issues on their merits. When asked what drives him, he used to say: "I have three children and, when the world falls apart, I want to be able to look them in the eye and say, 'Don't blame me. I tried.'" Today he gives an improved answer, one borrowed from a conversation with Dr. Hajo Meyer, a Nazi holocaust survivor and a passionate anti-Zionist. When Alan asked him why he was still campaigning at the age of 82 even though he was being reviled by Zionism, he replied: "The first person I see when I get up in the morning is me." Alan, too, has to be able to live with himself. He believes that heaven and hell are states of mind. Hell, he says, "is when you know that the end of your life is approaching and that you have not used your talents and resources as well as you could have done to make a difference - i.e. when you realise upon reflection that you have wasted your life. Heaven is contemplation of the approach of death without fear because you know that, on balance, you've done your best to make a difference."

Professor Ilan Pappe

In this extraordinary book, Alan Hart has succeeded in elucidating for us the immediate and long term dangers involved in the unconditional Western support for Zionism and its oppressive policies against the Palestinians.

The author provides us with a chilling exposure of how this embrace developed and continues to endanger the Jewish existence and fuels the anti-Semitism that refuses to disappear.

Motivated by a genuine concern for peace in Israel and Palestine and beyond in the world at large, Alan Hart has written not only a strong indictment of Zionism, based on both research and personal experience, but also provided us with a charter for a better future.

If his warnings are heeded, the lives of many Jews and Palestinians could be saved, and the Judeo-Christian world may find a way of co-existing in a world torn apart by hostility and violence.

Professor Ilan Pappe, Israel's leading revisionist historian
and author of The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine.

I hope that all who are concerned about the troubles of the Middle East will read this book; it is immensely readable and a magnificent piece of work which reflects Alan Hart's close relationship with Israeli and Palestinian leaders.

We are in terrible trouble in the Middle East. The book explains how we got here and how we could move forward. The tragedy is hurting Palestinians, Israelis and the rest of the world.

All who wish to engage in finding a way forward will be helped by reading this book.

I was totally enraptured by the painstaking and exhaustive research which went into your book. It is an outstanding contribution to the world of English literature and, more importantly, to the soul-searing history of the last couple of centuries.

I wish there was some way of ensuring that this book is read by every member of every family in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Western Europe, the Middle East and the South Asian sub-continent.

It is a reflection of the massive gullibility of human society today, particularly in these countries; and, at the same time, a grim tribute to the skill and diabolical dedication of the protagonists of Zionism that they have been able to dominate the world's thinking and imagination to this extent.

In its own interest, the world must know and, indeed, seek the truth.

Perhaps the biggest perplexity of the current world's political scene is the acceptance by most western countries of the respectability of the State of Israel.

This puzzling state of affairs has developed over many decades and it has apparently long been forgotten, firstly by most Jews, that Zionism, which begat the State of Israel, is a total desertion of Jewish religious belief and values, and secondly by the world at large, that Zionism was founded on a cold blooded policy of colonialism, ethnic cleansing and terrorism.

It is perhaps premature to expect the world to come to its senses within the near future, but writing as an Orthodox Jew I hope and pray that the Zionist State of Israel is recognised for what it is and that firm but peaceful pressure is brought to bear for the whole flawed concept to be brought to an end.

A pre-requisite for this is a correct historical view and Alan Hart in his chillingly revealing and very readable account of the intrigues of the Zionist political development has made a tremendously valuable contribution to this cause.

I found Alan Hart's book to be very engaging, fair-minded, compassionate, humanistic and with open ridicule and scorn on the political expediency of the Zionists, Arab regimes, US, and European politicians. The continued maiming & killing of innocent Palestinian civilians in Gaza during recent months supports the analysis pursued in the book of the myth of the 'threat' to Israel's existence as viewed by the Zionist lobby and as a Carte Blanche licence to carry out large-scale massacres against Palestinians. The other key point Hart makes is that: Zionism is a Modern phenomenon and a classic European colonial, political Ideology. Judaism is a religion. Therefore, Zionism and Judaism are not the same thing, but opposites. Many of the Zionists, who occupied Palestinian territory over fifty years ago, were foreign nationals and who had converted to Judaism in Europe with no historical links to Palestine.

The issue of "anti-Semitism" is always used to attack the critics of Zionism - yet in reality the European Jews were not racially Semetic and in actual fact many Arabs are from the Semetic race! Hart touches on the racism of European Jews against Arabs and quotes Jewish writer Lenni Brenner's book: "Zionism in the Age of the Dictators" which exposes the collaboration between Zionists and Hitler and Mussolini.

Whatever your political affiliation or background and if you bear in mind the current political crisis in the middle-east, this book is a must read for those who genuinely want an honest, non-Jewish and non-Muslim account. In addition, I found the book very easy to read as it is aimed at everyone without being patronising or sensationalist in its vocabulary.

Other useful books to read about the Middle East & Palestine is "Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine" by Ilan Pappe & "Dispossessed: The Ordeal of the Palestinians" by David Gilmour.

An amazing book with so much detail from one who cites Arafat and Golda Meir as friends. Hart not only refutes Zionism's history but makes a passionate plea to everyone to understand that Jew does not mean Zionist and Zionism does not represent Judaism.

He says enough for me to understand that a two state solution will never work, it will be based on the Israel state dominating the Palestine state. Hart shows me at least that a unified fight against Zionism from within Israel and beyond is the only real solution to this problem.

I have always struggled to understand the conflict in the Middle East. It touches me deeply and i feel great sorrow without really understanding the history. I wanted clarification and an unbiased account of what went wrong in Palestine.

I saw an interview of Alan Hart, where he was explaining how he struggled to get this book published. That was encouraging enough for me, someone obviously didn't want the truth getting out, which made me want to know the truth more than ever.

I have to admit i did find some of the reality of information hard to swallow, and it did upset me for days. To think such injustice could be carried out with the blessings of those who we regard as our protectors, and morally guided leaders, could in fact be so morally bankrupt was alarming.
I had been living in a rose tinted world and suddenly the world sucks! There were moments i was ashamed of our British history, we had betrayed them!

Overall this was an excellent book, which i would highly recommend to all, if you can read Harry Potter, you can read this!

The premise of this book is obvious from the title and the author presents a wealth of factual evidence to back it up. Zionism is an ideology based on the claim that "God" gave land in the Middle East to the Jewish people several thousand years ago. The concept is clearly ridiculous given that the vast majority of Jewish people today have no relationship to the Jews of antiquity other than a religious belief that many adopted relatively recently. This fact alone makes a mockery of the idea that a portion of land in the Middle East belongs to the Jews of today. It also makes a mockery of the idea that to criticize Zionism is anti-semitic - hatred of Jewish people.

The Zionist movement is and always has been owned by a small group of individuals who used the manipulative power of religion to further their own selfish agenda.

The January 16th 2007 edition of Boston Globe ran an editorial by the editorial page director, H.D.S. Greenway. It was a typical apparently left-of-center piece on a possible attack on Iran, with Greenway urging everyone to "step back and take a deep breath". Towards the end of the piece however, Greenway makes a comment in which he momentarily strikes at the heart of the matter only to then gloss it over with a line taken directly from the Zionist book of truisms.

"Every Israeli prime minister has had to fear in one remote corner of the brain that the effect of Zionism might be to gather all the Jews in one place for destruction. This fear has been brought front and center by Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's criminally irresponsible call for the destruction of the Jewish state."

The only truth in this statement is found in the words "the effect of Zionism [has been] to gather all the Jews in one place for destruction." The idea, as implied by Greenway, that this was a mistake on the part of the Zionists who created and continue to control the Zionist state is laughable, mainly because it was patently obvious from the very outset that to create a state for Jews in 1948 by stealing land belonging to another people and to proceed to oppress, and periodically murder, the indigenous population over the following 58 years was the best way to ensure a perpetual threat to the Jews of Israel.

Furthermore, in his book Ben-Gurion's Scandals: How the Haganah and the Mossad Eliminated Jews Naeim Giladi states:

"From the start they (Zionist leaders) knew that in order to establish a Jewish state they had to expel the indigenous Palestinian population to the neighboring Islamic states and import Jews from these same states. Vladimir Jabotinsky, Netanyahu's ideological progenitor, frankly admitted that such a transfer of populations could only be brought about by force.

David Ben-Gurion, Israel's first prime minister, told a Zionist Conference in 1937 that any proposed Jewish state would have to "transfer Arab populations out of the area, if possible of their own free will, if not by coercion." After 750,000 Palestinians were uprooted and their lands confiscated in 1948-49, Ben-Gurion had to look to the Islamic countries for Jews who could fill the resultant cheap labor market. "Emissaries" were smuggled into these countries to "convince" Jews to leave either by trickery or fear.

In the case of Iraq, both methods were used: uneducated Jews were told of a Messianic Israel in which the blind see, the lame walk, and onions grow as big as melons; educated Jews had bombs thrown at them."

To this we must add the Fact of Zionist collaboration with the Nazis during WWII. In Lenni Brenner's book,51 Documents: Zionist Collaboration With the Nazis we read:

"The infamous SS-Hptscharf, Adolf Eichmann, had visited Palestine in October, 1937 as the guest of the Zionists. He also met in Egypt with Feivel Polkes, a Zionist operative whom Eichmann described as a "leading Haganah functionary." The chain-smoking Polkes was also on the Nazis' payroll "as an informer."[...]

After the Holocaust began in 1942, Eichmann dealt regularly with Dr. Rudolf Kastner, a Hungarian Jew, whom he considered a "fanatical Zionist." At issue was the bargaining over the eventual fate of Hungary's Jews, who were slated for liquidation in the Nazi-run death camps. Eichmann said this about Kastner, the Zionist representative:

"I believe that [he] would have sacrificed a thousand or a hundred thousand of his blood to achieve his political goal. He was not interested in old Jews or those who had become assimilated into Hungarian society. 'You can have the others,' he would say, 'but let me have this group here.' And because Kastner rendered us a great service by helping keep the deportation camps peaceful. I would let his groups escape."

After the Nuremberg Anti-Jewish Race Laws were enacted in Sept., 1935 only two flags that were permitted to be displayed in all of Nazi Germany. One was Hitler's favorite, the Swastika. The other was the blue and white banner of Zionism. The Zionists were also allowed to publish their own newspaper. The reasons for this Reich-sponsored favoritism was, according to the author:

"The Zionists and the Nazis had a common interest, making German Jews emigrate to Palestine." However, according to Greenway, the Bush government and the Zionists in Israel, the root cause of any possible threat to the future of the Jews of Israel is the 'bogeyman du jour', President Adhmadinejad. Evidence for this 'fact' is provided by the oft-repeated yet entirely false claim that the Iranian president has "called for the destruction of the Jewish state."

The minor problem with this 'fact' is that it is a lie. What Ahmadinejad actually said was that the "Zionist entity" (meaning the small group of Zionist leaders) should be "wiped from the pages of history", and given the clear and present danger that these psychopaths pose to not only the Jewish people but the entire planet, who but the most ignorant could disagree with him.

I commend the author for bringing up this issue, it seems we have one rule for the rest of the world & one rule for Israel: that is, no one dares to critise the injustices, ethnic cleansing, toture, humiliation & racism that is commited in the name of a terrorist state called ISRAEL!.

An excellent overview of history and a very compelling read. Don't be put off by those who suggest this book is biased simply because it confronts the facts head on. It does so from a genuine concern in the plight of the Middle East, of the Jewish 'soul', and humanity in general.

This isn't a five star book. It isn't a one star book either. I'm voting it this high because of the rabid zionists that have voted it so low. These people support illegal occupation, house demolitions, torture, genocide, and much more. This book exposes their lies and hatred, which is why they rated it as they did. The fact that they're so disturbed by it is all the more reason to buy this and learn from it.

Alan Hart is a former BBC Panorama and ITN Middle East correspondent with a vast first-hand knowledge of the subject. He knew, and interviewed, many of the main players in the Israel-Palestine conflict on all sides (Golda Meir, Yasser Arafat and other PLO leaders, Moshe Dayan, Nasser, King Hussein of Jordan - the list is long). Yet no publisher, major or minor, dared to publish this book for fear of offending the powerful Zionist lobby whose knee-jerk reaction to any criticism is to fling out the charge of "anti-Semitism".

Thus, like T.E. Lawrence before him, Hart had to publish his book himself (the task almost bankrupted Lawrence). It would seem that "Zionism: the Real Enemy of the Jews" is a book that some powerful people obviously don't want you to read. That was reason enough for me to purchase a copy! And I am very glad I did.

Hart establishes that Zionism is a SECULAR phenomenon: a classic European colonial, political IDEOLOGY. Judaism is a religion. Thus, Zionism and Judaism are not the same thing, but opposites. And many of the European Zionists colonising Palestine were foreign nationals who had converted to Judaism in Europe with no historic links to Palestine. As a result, many of them are not even racially Semitic whereas Arabs are Semitic.

This two volume work is a monumental history of the Israel-Palestine conflict with unique insights into many of the happenings in this region and also in US and European politics. Its comprehensive scope is breathtaking. Hart is critical of the Zionists, but he is also scathingly critical of many Arab regimes and US and European politicians too. He quotes from many anti-Zionist Jews--including the more far-sighted members of Israeli Military Intelligence. An example is Jehoshafat Harkabi, the longest serving Director of Israeli Military Intelligence, who responded to Hart's earlier book, "Arafat: Terrorist or Peacemaker?", by writing a work of his own which was critical of Zionism's policy of seeking to impose its will on the Arabs by brute force.

It is its many-sided approach which makes Hart's book essential reading for anyone with an interest in Middle Eastern politics.

Hart documents the behind the scenes arm-twisting of the powerful, well-financed US Zionist political lobby since the 1940s. And he establishes that it actually succeeded in dictating US Middle Eastern policy during many presidential administrations--especially via the corrupt, pork-barrel politics of the Democratic Party.

Hart's style of writing is engaging and accessible--it is written in an entertainingly earthy, no-nonsense way--spiced with more than a dash of ridicule and scorn. Hart does not suffer fools gladly and he doesn't mince words either when it comes to exposing political folly, mendacity and corruption. He nevertheless comes across as deeply humane and fair-minded. The book is a masterpiece of even-handedness, humanity and compassion. He manages to produce a work that is both rigorous and substantiated, but is also a good read--almost like a novel. Hart's communication skills gained while serving as a broadcaster are evident here.

Hart recounts his own contribution to diplomatic efforts to solve the Israel-Palestine conflict with the support of some leading Jews e.g. Marcus Sieff of Marks and Spencers. It was an attempt to get Arafat and the Israelis talking directly to each other on the assumption that Shimon Peres would be elected to power. This initiative was sabotaged by the election of of ultra-hawk Menachem Begin. However, the Oslo agreement had its beginnings in this initiative.

One of Hart's many themes is that Israel has never at any point in its existence been at threat from the front-line Arab states. This was a myth generated by the Zionist propaganda machine to frighten Israelis and diaspora Jews into supporting Israel's adventures and aggressive expansionism. Hart establishes that from 1948 onwards Israel had the upper hand in terms of military hardware, air power and capability. It was from the beginning a well financed First World nation of European colonialists facing an essentially feudal Third World Arab nation. And some of these European Zionists carried with them some of the European racism towards Arabs. Hart refers to (US Jewish writer) Lenni Brenner's classic book: "Zionism in the Age of the Dictators" which documents the collaboration between Zionists and Hitler and Mussolini. And one of the most astonishing revelations of Hart's book is that Ben Gurion and the Zionist lobby opposed and sabotaged President's Trueman's proposal to allow all European Jewish Holocaust victims to be given sanctuary in the USA after World War 2. This was because Ben Gurion needed them for his colonial project in Palestine.

Even if you disagree with Hart's conclusions, it is worth buying the book for the wealth of unique information contained within these weighty volumes.

Alan Hart has written a greatly needed book (Vols 1 & 2). He offers a factual account and not one suited to a particular taste. Hart is able to give an insider's account as he was a correspondent from Jerusalem and a witness to the 1967 war, and more importantly, because he also was a secret peace mediator who held private talks with the leaders on both sides. The details he therefore is able to provide are not ones you would find published in books on this conflict. They are the result of one on one talks with the key players.

This is a must read for anyone wishing to learn about the facts, mentalities of the politicians, and what the future could hold - if people, "the citizens of nations", and not their governments, got informed and pursued justice. This book is definitely a first step in that direction.

Hart has a message for Jews and non-Jews and he appeals for REASON and not violence - calling him a propagandist is a mere display of a person's own bias. He is not in favor of apocolyptic scenarios (by extremists from either side) but rather of a genuine just and peacful future for those involved in the conflict and the world at large.

A MUST.

Wow what a comprehendible account! Hart has really done literature justice and the countless of Israeli and Palestinians who have suffered and those continuing to suffer. Whatever your political allegiance to the current political crisis in the middle-east, this book is a must read for those who genuinely want an honest, non-Jewish and non-Muslim, historical and contextualised understanding of the Palestinian- Israel conflict. Whether you are an astute academic or a high school student this book is really easy to read as it is aimed for all without being patronising or over sensationalised in its vocabulary.

Writing in a novel format this book is far from fiction. There are references to all sources used so if you are unsure about any particular facts you can easily confirm them via Google (watch out for devious sources on the internet though). The book even goes as far as providing a workable solution to the conflict (something our so-called leaders have failed to do). They key message here is that the hype that Israel's existence is under threat is a myth (not that I completely agree) but Hart puts a compelling argument forward nevertheless. He argues that by Israel maintaining that its existence is under threat it will give them a carte blanche licence to kill and maim, and therefore to not bother with peace, current facts actually support his theory.

For people who want an unbiased version of the world's worst conflict and those who are really interested in seeing justice prevail and for all those who do not want to be exposed to another terror attack, read this book please. There will be, inevitably, claims by the Zionist lobbies that this is just another anti-Semitism piece of rabble, but you will be doing yourself a disservice if you fall for that claptrap. I now have so much respect to the unheard voices of the Jewish people who really do have the key to peace in the region, by making Israel see that's its worst enemy is itself.
